Compare school holidays between federal states
Goal: Find common holiday periods across several federal states.
Steps
- Open 🏖️ Holiday planning in the menu.
- Switch to the Calendar view.
- Under Compare holidays of federal states, select at least two states.
- The app shows coloured bars, overlap markers and lists of common periods.
Tip: Select only a few states to keep things clear.
Why the holiday comparison?
When children live in two households or relatives live in another federal state, school holidays often fall at different times. The holiday comparison shows at a glance when holiday time overlaps – the basis for shared trips and for a fair split of the holiday weeks between the parents.
How to read the display
- Coloured bars: one row per selected federal state, each holiday band in its own colour.
- Overlaps: periods in which at least two of the selected states have holidays at the same time are highlighted.
- Shared periods: below, the overlaps are listed with their dates.
